Newsletter Plugin: Convertkit

This plugin connects aMember newsletter lists to Kit forms. It uses Kit's V3 API key and API secret. V4 keys will not work with this plugin.

  1. In Kit, open Settings → Developer (Developer settings). Find the V3 API key section.
  2. Copy the V3 API key into ConvertKit API Key on this aMember setup page.
  3. In the same Kit section, reveal and copy the V3 API secret into ConvertKit API Secret. Keep both credentials private.
  4. Leave Do not unsubscribe unchecked if aMember should unsubscribe customers when they lose access to a newsletter list. Click Save.
  1. In Kit, go to Audience growth → Landing Pages & Forms and create a Form. Save and publish it. Kit has one subscriber list; this aMember plugin presents Kit forms as newsletter lists.
  2. In aMember, go to Protect Content → Newsletters and import the Kit forms. Edit each imported newsletter list to set its access permissions, such as the products that grant access. Enable Auto-Subscribe users to list if customers should be added automatically when they gain access.

When access to a newsletter list expires, aMember attempts to unsubscribe the customer in Kit. Kit's V3 API unsubscribes the subscriber from the account as a whole, so the plugin then attempts to re-add any other Kit forms to which the customer remains subscribed through aMember. This cannot reliably remove only one form: Kit may leave the subscriber cancelled until they sign up and confirm again, and reconfirmation may reactivate the expired form too. Check the customer's form statuses in Kit when they have access to more than one form. The Do not unsubscribe setting skips that account-wide unsubscribe and removes only the tags configured for the list.

For more about Kit credentials, see Kit's API overview.
