Payment Plugin: PayPal Checkout

Copy three values from your REST app in the PayPal Developer Dashboard into this page. Select Sandbox or Live at the top left of the dashboard first: sandbox and live apps have different credentials.

  1. Client ID and Secret: open Apps & Credentials, create an app (type Merchant) or click an existing one, and copy Client ID and Secret key 1. Tick Is it a Sandbox(Testing) Account? for a sandbox app.

  2. Webhook ID: on the app page, click Add Webhook, enter this URL and tick the events below. Save the webhook and copy its Webhook ID from the list.

Webhook events used by aMember:

  • PAYMENT.CAPTURE.COMPLETED
  • BILLING.SUBSCRIPTION.ACTIVATED
  • PAYMENT.SALE.COMPLETED
  • PAYMENT.CAPTURE.REFUNDED
  • PAYMENT.SALE.REFUNDED
  • VAULT.PAYMENT-TOKEN.CREATED
  • VAULT.PAYMENT-TOKEN.DELETED

Without the Webhook ID, aMember rejects all notifications from PayPal.

Recurring billing: in PayPal Subscriptions mode, create a subscription plan in PayPal for every recurring billing plan and paste its P-... ID into Paypal Billing Plan ID of the billing plan. In Expanded Checkout mode, enable Advanced Credit and Debit Card Payments and Save payment methods in the app features, and enable the Credit Card Billing module in aMember.
